Assignment: Genesis 17-20 Goal: by next Saturday, July 25, 2010 Short reading for the coming week so that we can all get caught up, and I am going to try and get an email list together for an additional method of announcements (I’ll use the email addresses you used when you posted “I’m in” here). If anyone needs more time, I can schedule a small reading for this coming week (maybe to Genesis 20). If you are ready, let me know, below. I will try and make an email list to make this easier, but in the mean time, let me know if you are ready to move on here.

Cover to Cover Bible Reading: Assignment: Read Genesis 5-16
Goal: Read by Saturday, July 17, 2010

Assignment: Read Genesis 1-4
Goal: Read by Saturday, July 10, 2010

Follow the greatest commandments of loving God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength and loving your neighbor as yourself.

The Lord is inspiring me to start my second reading of the Bible, cover to cover. I know more about the Bible than I did when I first read it in 2006 (well, not much more, but some more – LOL), so I am looking forward to reading again with “fresh eyes.”

Just before uploading the video to YouTube, I felt the strong urge to NOT upload the video. But, I didn’t listen to that urge, which – indeed – I believe was the Spirit trying to guide me away from fleshly desire.

Um… What? I’m sure glad that nobody has written any hymnals that we sing loudly and proudly along to with phrases like “dash the heads of my enemies’ infants, O Lord, against the rocks!”

You could put a backbeat to that and start rapping. There are easy rhymes for Pai (high, cry, fly, sty) and Matred (hatred). Can’t think of anything that rhymes with Mezahab or Mehetabel, however. Might be a good lyric there for a future worship song (yadda yadda yadda was dead… and yadda yadda reigned in his stead!), but I’m digressing.

Galatians 5

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
